The UBC Resident Insider is a curated online guide created by BC Medical Residents for BC Medical Residents with support from the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine, Postgraduate Medical Education (UBC PGME) and Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD).
Content was adapted from UBC IMG Residents Onboarding Guide created by Dr. Kim Co (FM Resident, SPH-IMG Site, 2023) and Katherine Co (Product Designer) with content support from Dr. Nik Dewan, Dr. Payam Khalafi, and Dr. Zain Syed.
UBC Resident Insider began when 2 sisters — Dr. Kim Co and Katherine Co realized the challenges and uncertainty that came from being a resident in BC and wanted to make it better.
We created the UBC IMG Residents Onboarding Guide, a prototype to the UBC Resident Insider. Because it was so useful, the tool was shared amongst residents and non-residents alike!
With the sharing of knowledge between peers at the forefront of this project, we are excited for residents to contribute to this ever-growing library with their own entries so that we can continue the cycling of providing advice and insight for future residents.
